Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services such as helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate, timely, and at the correct temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist patients with menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure dietary restrictions are met.
  2. Determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, or cultural preferences.
  3. Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to patient selections, ensuring timely delivery and pickup.
  4. Comply with regulatory standards, including HIPAA, and maintain confidentiality.
  5. Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning workstations.
  6. Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or calorie counts.
  7. Communicate concerns or issues with patients to appropriate staff.
  8. Complete required reports as per policies.
  9. Adhere to health, sanitation, and infection control regulations.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
