Job Summary
Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services such as helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with understanding their menu options and collaborate with nursing to ensure dietary needs are met.
- Coordinate with the culinary team to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to patient selections, ensuring timely and accurate delivery and collection.
- Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
- Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
- Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or with specific calorie requirements.
- Communicate any issues or concerns with patients to appropriate staff promptly.
- Complete required reports as per Morrison Healthcare policies.
- Follow all health, sanitation, and infection control regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.
