Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates assist on units in healthcare facilities, helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They are vital to patient safety and satisfaction, ensuring meals are accurate, timely, and at the correct temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist patients with menu understanding and coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional needs.
• Work with culinary staff to accommodate allergies, sensitivities, cultural, religious, or personal preferences.
• Manage tray tickets, assemble meals, and retrieve trays at scheduled times.
• Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO standards, and follow HIPAA policies.
• Handle food according to HACCP guidelines, maintain cleanliness, and break down tray lines.
• Follow infection control policies.
• Help dietitians monitor patients on special diets or with specific calorie needs.
• Report issues promptly.
• Complete required reports.
• Adhere to health and sanitation regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food carts.
