Job description

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services such as helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist patients with menu selections and collaborate with nursing to ensure dietary requirements are met.
  2. Coordinate with caregivers and culinary staff to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, and cultural preferences.
  3. Manage tray tickets, assemble meals accurately, and retrieve trays from patient rooms at scheduled times.
  4. Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
  5. Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
  6. Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or with specific calorie needs.
  7. Communicate patient concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
  8. Complete required reports as per Morrison Healthcare policies.
  9. Follow health, sanitation, and infection control regulations.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
