PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) – full time and part time

Location

Granville Medical Center – 1010 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule

Full time and part time schedules. Monday through Friday; hours may vary with rotating weekends and some holidays.

Pay

Fixed Pay Rate: $13.00 per hour

Overview

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services that include helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, cultural/ethnic/religious preferences, or additional selections.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards (federal, state, JCAHO); adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down patient tray line.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians by monitoring patients who require modified diets (liquid diets, specific calorie counts, etc.).
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Complete daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
