  • We are hiring immediately for full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE/DIETARY AIDE positions.
  • Location: University of Tennessee Medical Center - 1924 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full-time; days may vary, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm or 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Rotating weekends. More details upon interview.
  • Requirement: No prior experience required. Willing to train!
  • Perks: $250 sign-on bonus at 30 and 90 days!
  • Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units, helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They ensure meals are accurate, timely, and at the correct temperature, contributing to patient safety and satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with menu choices and coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional needs.
  • Determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, or cultural preferences.
  • Manage tray tickets, assemble meals, and retrieve trays at scheduled times.
  • Comply with regulatory standards, confidentiality, and HIPAA policies.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines and infection control policies.
  • Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or with specific calorie needs.
  • Communicate concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Complete required reports as per policies.
  • Follow health and sanitation regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food carts.
