Unidine is hiring immediately for a full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE - DIETARY AIDE position.

  • Location: Barrow Northeast Georgia Health System - 316 North Broad Street, Winder, GA 30680. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full-time, days may vary, including alternating weekends, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. More details upon interview.
  • Requirement: No experience necessary. Willing to train!
  • Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services such as helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate, timely, and at the right temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients in understanding their menu options and coordinate with nursing to ensure dietary needs are met.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and culinary staff to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, religious preferences, or additional patient inquiries.
  • Manage tray tickets, assemble meals accurately and promptly, and retrieve trays from patient rooms at scheduled times.
  • Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and patient rights policies per HIPAA.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down tray lines.
  • Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on special diets or with specific calorie requirements.
  • Report issues or concerns with patients promptly and follow departmental procedures.
  • Complete required reports as per company policies.
  • Follow health, sanitation, and infection control regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.
