Job Title: Patient Dining Associate - Dietary Aide

Location: Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital - 701 Sixth Street South, Saint Petersburg, FL 33701. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time, days may vary, 6:30 am to 6:30 pm (12-hour shifts), including rotating weekends and holidays; more details upon interview.

Requirements: Previous hospitality, restaurant, or patient care experience preferred but not required. Willing to train!

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in healthcare facilities, helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They are vital to patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate, timely, and at the right temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist patients in understanding their menu options and coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional needs.
2. Work with culinary and caregiving teams to accommodate allergies, cultural, ethnic, religious preferences, and additional patient inquiries.
3. Manage tray tickets, assemble meals accurately and promptly, and retrieve trays from patient rooms.
4. Comply with regulatory standards, including HIPAA, and maintain patient confidentiality.
5. Follow HACCP guidelines and infection control policies.
6. Assist dietitians by monitoring patients on special diets or with specific calorie requirements.
7. Report issues or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
8. Complete required reports as per policies.
9. Adhere to health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds occasionally and maneuver food carts.
