Overview
PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) – full time position
Location: Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital – 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093. Note: online applications accepted only.
Schedule: Full-time 6:30 am to 8:00 pm, days may vary; rotating weekends and holidays required. Pay range: $19.00–$21.00 per hour.
Requirement: Previous food service and patient services experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
- Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences, or additional selections.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
- Comply with regulator standards (federal, state, and JCAHO) and adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights in HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down the patient tray line.
- Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
- Assist dietitians by helping monitor patients on liquid diets or with specific calorie counts.
- Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner per department procedures.
- Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Comply with health, sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver/push food delivery carts.
