Pat​ient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) — Part-time

Location: CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospital, 800 East Dawson Street, Tyler, TX 75701. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Part-time, 1:00 pm to 8:30 pm; days may vary. More details upon interview. Pay Range: $15.00 to $15.50 per hour.

Job summary and responsibilities describe how Patient Dining Associates support patient safety and satisfaction by delivering accurate meals on time and at the correct temperature.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and collaborate with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, or additional selections.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s selections; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory standards (federal, state, JCAHO). Adhere to HIPAA policies and patient rights.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down the tray line.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians with patients who require special diets or calorie counts.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with health, sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
