Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, part of Compass Group, seeks Patient Dining Associates/Dietary Aides for the Sheltering Arms Institute in Richmond, VA. Roles include assisting patients with menu selections, assembling and delivering meals, and ensuring nutritional compliance.

Positions are available full-time and part-time. Compensation is fixed at $16.50 per hour with varied shifts (10:30 AM–7:00 PM or 3:30 PM–7:30 PM). Online applications only, on-site at the facility.

Qualifications

• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand menu selections and work with nursing staff to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO; adhere to facility confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down patient tray lines.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians with monitoring patients who cannot eat orally, are on liquid diets, or have specific calorie counts.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
• Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, as well as department sanitation procedures.
