Job Details:

  • Type: Full-time (30-40 hours per week, occasional Saturdays)
  • Location: 434 Old Post Road, Bedford, NY 10506
  • Salary: $17.00-$19.00/hour, based on experience

Responsibilities include:

  • Answering telephone calls, determining the purpose of callers, and forwarding calls to appropriate personnel or department. Retrieving messages from voicemail and forwarding them to appropriate personnel.
  • Scheduling appointments, entering appointment date and time into the computerized scheduler (EMR), and conducting reminder calls to patients.
  • Registering patients by verifying that their records are up-to-date and accurate, and making necessary updates in the computer system.
  • Answering questions about the organization and providing callers with addresses, directions, and other information.
  • Confirming patients' insurance eligibility with insurance companies, completing insurance claim forms, and submitting claims.

Minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medical receptionist experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of EMR scheduling software is a plus.
  • EPIC software knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software.
