Job summary

Medstar Radiology Network is seeking a Patient Coordinator I for a Full-time Flex position at our outpatient imaging center in Bel Air, MD. You will be the friendly first point of contact, welcoming patients, registering them, and coordinating appointments with precision and care.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong communication to support the imaging team and patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients and team.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and registering patients and coordinating appointments.
• Manage phone inquiries, scheduling, and patient correspondence.
• Maintain medical records and inventory for the imaging center.
• Support training and supervision for more senior staff as needed.
• Collaborate with the Imaging Center team to meet operational goals.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 10:00am-6:00pm 1 Saturday per month 8:00am-2:00pm

The Business Office Team is responsible for collaborating and leading the Imaging Center team in providing excellent patient care and supporting the operational goals for both the Center and the organization. This includes all customer and patient-facing responsibilities including welcoming, registering, and overall patient coordination, as well as phone correspondence, scheduling appointments, inventory, and medical record management. The upper levels of this series also include the training, supervision, and management of Business Office team members. The overall scope for this series is designed to ensure the management and resources are available to maintain a quality, high functioning, and customer friendly Outpatient Imaging Center.

Education

To be competitive, must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work independently and multitask.
• Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of computer applications and Microsoft Office.
