Job summary

Miami Jewish Health in Miami, FL is seeking a Patient Coordinator to perform clerical duties and manage scheduling for participants in the PACE program. You will work with caregivers, ALFs, escorts, and transportation to ensure timely appointments and accurate record-keeping in our medical authorization system.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 2 years in healthcare clerical work, and bilingual Spanish/English abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years office/clerical experience preferably in healthcare setting.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Schedules all participant diagnostic appointments and medical consultations for PACE participants and enters appointments into PACE medical authorization system.
• Tracks appointments and produces reports as requested to track data.
• Coordinates with caregivers, transportation department, ALF staff and escorts to ensure participant attends appointments.
• Oversees unit-specific documentation per department guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Provides coordination with other departments.
• Acts as support for receptionist.
• Performs other support functions as needed.
• Attends department meetings and in-services as needed.

Job Title : Patient Coordinator

Job Summary

Perform clerical duties utilizing specific knowledge of medical terminology, PACE regulations, contract providers and authorization procedures. Duties include scheduling appointments for participants, including coordination with caregivers, ALF’s, escorts and transportation. Pull reports from information system to monitor compliance. Oversee scanning of assessments by medical receptionist into software system.
