The Patient Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients. This position's primary responsibility will be to assist with overseeing all aspects of patient management, including assisting with the development of program protocols, identifying best practices for patient medical file management and engaging with patients to ensure patient satisfaction. In addition, the position will collaborate with all NASH team members to ensure that all aspects of patient enrollment and retention are in place to successfully grow our patient pool. The Patient Coordinator serves as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and NASH staff, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s healthcare programs. Reports to: Senior Management.

Responsibilities
  • Patient management, including development of electronic health records in coordination with the Administrator of Patient Support Services.
  • Engage with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists and specialists, to gather insights and expertise for protocol development.
  • Collaborate with medical experts to create detailed patient protocols for various medical treatments.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing protocols through data analysis and feedback from healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of protocol development processes, revisions, and rationales.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Act as a point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests with empathy and professionalism.
  • Provide clear and accurate information to patients regarding their appointments, medical procedures, and any necessary paperwork, in collaboration with the Administrator of Patient Support Services.
  • Provide patients with information about all aspects of their Specialty Medication experience with NASH.
  • Address patient concerns or conflicts calmly and empathetically, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Assist with the development of best-in-class specialty pharmacy program.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic health records (EHR) for patients, including patient interactions, appointments, and relevant documentation, ensuring compliance with privacy and security regulations.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly and concisely.
  • Customer-centric attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining a positive patient experience.
  • Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Platform, Salesforce and MS Office.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • HIPAA trained and/or the ability to work with and protect extremely confidential patient and employee information.
  • Accountable, responsible, and flexible.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to relate and interact well with all levels of management and staff as well as NASH patients, clients, and vendors in a tactful, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Ability to travel to NASH meetings, client offices, conferences, etc. as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • In a normal work shift the employee may be asked to lift 20 lbs.
