Job summary

Xpress-Wellness-Urgent-Care is seeking a patient service specialist to handle front desk duties, insurance verification, and data integrity. You will greet patients, collect co-pays, schedule appointments, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities include entering patient data, verifying insurance, balancing daily charges, and coordinating referrals while upholding HIPAA and OSHA compliance in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Current certification in BLS.
• 1-3 years of medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing.
• Familiarity with OSHA, HIPAA and related regulations.
• Competent with PC applications (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner and informs them of delays.
• Obtains registration data, insurance information, and photo ID at encounters.
• Enter and update patient data in the system accurately.
• Verify insurance and collect co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient and staff information.
• Balance daily charges and safeguard money received.
• Manage patient charts and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Assist in scheduling and follow-up on referrals and keep lobby stocked.
