Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Collections Representative to handle inbound calls, assess financial clearance, and set up payment plans across self-pay and insurance accounts.

You will analyze guarantor balances, communicate options clearly, and ensure compliance with department policy while meeting production standards. Healthcare billing experience, Epic PM familiarity, and strong telephone etiquette are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of healthcare collections experience (self-pay and insurance).
• Ability to interpret plan benefits and EOBs for primary/secondary plans.
• Knowledge of Commercial Insurance rules and appeals experience.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with ability to explain options to patients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Inbound calls, screening patients for financial clearance and collecting balances.
• Notify patients with previous balances and explain payment options.
• Perform financial collection tasks including account analysis and extended payment arrangements.
• Maintain professional communication with patients and coworkers.
• Adhere to department policies and production/quality standards.
