Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Medical Assistant for Student Health Evanston. This full-time role supports physicians and nurses, helps maintain patient flow, and performs routine clinical tasks and related administrative duties.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, current BLS/CPR certification, and eligibility for MA certification exams within six months. Two years of ambulatory care experience is preferred, with EMR experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current certification eligibility within six months for CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA with onboarding acknowledgement.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.
• 0–2 years of experience in a relevant role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow and prepare exam rooms and equipment.
• Assist with procedures such as ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Stock and disinfect exam rooms, monitor inventory, and maintain safe patient areas.
• Communicate with patients and care team to support quality care and satisfaction.
• Perform delegated duties and support supervisors as needed.
