Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required or equivalent education/experience.
• Current License to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in New York State, required.
• Current limited permit to practice as Physical Therapy Assistant in New York State, required (outpatient settings only).
• Specialized certifications, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administers direct patient care under prescription by referring physician or State-authorized practitioner.
• Submits required documentation per department policies and procedures.
• Maintains progress notes and discharge summaries for assigned patients.
• Responds to established department emergency procedures for patient safety and care when necessary.
• Participates in quality improvement chart reviews and activities.
• May attend family meetings/conferences pertaining to patient welfare and management.
