Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program is preferred.
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Clinical knowledge and ability to assist in patient care and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit.
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit.
• Ensures patient questions are answered before departure; preps room for next appointment.
• Provides excellent patient service through effective phone and in-person communication.
• Completes patient registration and accurate documentation.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills, and credentials via ongoing development.
• Follows applicable DOT drug and alcohol testing procedures in occupational health settings.
• Adapts interactions to patient population and privacy requirements.
