Job summary

IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Associate to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming patient environment. You will clean patient rooms, offices and common areas, following infection control and safety protocols and using protective equipment as required.

No prior experience is required, but you should be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 35–80 lbs, and operate light cleaning equipment as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment and lift 35–80 lbs when needed.
• Physical stamina for long periods on feet.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, offices, clinics and public spaces to support a safe, clean environment.
• Follow infection control standards and hospital policy for cleaning and disinfection.
• Proactively communicate with clinical teams to support patient safety and care flow.
• Perform hazardous and biohazardous waste removal in compliance with safety regulations.

Education

High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred
