Job summary

Mercy Health in Fairfield, Ohio is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide skilled therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will document patient progress in the electronic health record and participate in the continuum of care across outpatient, inpatient, pediatrics and off-site locations.

Candidates must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state and BLS certification; strong communication and teamwork skills expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of current practice (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred within 30 days for BSMH; required at hire for RSFH).

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist and monitors response to treatment.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient's progress.
• Maintains set level of productivity without jeopardizing quality.
• Precepts in the direction and evaluation of Assistant clinical experience / internship of students from participating colleges, universities, or schools.
• Maintains departmental policies and procedures regarding safety, infection control, time off requests and timecard recording.
• Observes and reports patients’ responses to treatment and progress and reports to the Physical Therapist.
