Job summary

Huntsville Memorial Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care, clerical tasks, and patient advocacy under supervision. The role includes taking vital signs, vaccines and injections, and assisting with procedures in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities also cover preparing exam rooms, collecting specimens, coordinating records, and ensuring patient confidentiality. Requires HS diploma or GED, 1 year healthcare experience, and current MA/CNA/EMT certification with

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: One year of related healthcare experience required.
• Certification: MA/CNA/EMT or related certification with BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care as assigned by the provider under supervision, including vital signs, vaccines and injections, EKGs and screening tests.
• Assists with procedures, prepares exam rooms, and supports patient flow and documentation.
• Collects patient history, relays instructions, answers calls, and maintains patient confidentiality and PHI.
• Maintains infection prevention protocols and participates in quality/safety initiatives.
