Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and healthcare professionals in a fast-paced clinical setting in Smyrna, GA.

You will handle front- and back-office tasks, gather vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and assist during treatments. Under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor or Practice/Office Manager, you will coordinate tests, document care, and help ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; medical assisting certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification required; instructor certification not required.
• Experience in physician practice setting preferred; 1 year minimum requested.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English; strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and records vital signs and patient information.
• Prepares patients for exams and assists during treatments.
• Coordinates tests and follow-up care; documents in medical record.
• Supports front office with check-in/check-out and scheduling as needed.
• Maintains patient safety and high-quality patient experience.
