Dentist in Louisville is seeking a licensed dental hygienist to join our Louisville practice. You will perform prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and periodontal maintenance while aligning care with each patient’s diagnosis.

You’ll complete periodontal charting, take radiographs, and screen for oral diseases. Educating patients on home care and maintaining sterilization standards are essential parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Active KY dental hygiene license with CPR/BLS certification.
• Local anesthesia certification where available in Kentucky.
• Thorough periodontal charting habits and ability to read and act on chart data.
• Gentle hands and patience to work with fearful patients.
• New grads welcome; will be mentored by an experienced hygienist.

Responsibilities

• Perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance per diagnosis.
• Complete full periodontal charting and take radiographs on recall intervals.
• Screen for oral cancer, decay and periodontal disease; flag findings for the doctor.
• Educate patients on home care to drive behavior change.
• Apply fluoride and sealants; administer local anesthetic where state law allows.
• Maintain complete clinical notes and sterilization standards.
