Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc is seeking a Unit Assistant to support nursing staff in a hospital unit. You will perform clerical duties, help with patient records, register patients in Meditech, and assist with daily operations.

Under RN supervision, you will help patients with activities of daily living, maintain a safe, clean environment, and coordinate with departments while staying calm under pressure. Previous medical setting experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent with CNA or Medical Assistant certification.
  • Ability to obtain BLS certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
  • English language skills for interacting with patients, callers, and coworkers.
  • Computer literacy and basic documentation abilities.
  • Prior experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under frequent interruption.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical duties and maintain patient records.
  • Assist nurses and physicians with orders and patient care.
  • Register patients in the Meditech system and manage reception tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment and support daily unit operations.
  • Adapt to shift schedules and handle interruptions calmly.
