Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an Unit Coordinator to act as a central hub for patient care from newborn to geriatric in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will serve as the primary receptionist and secretary while supporting safe, therapeutic care through multidisciplinary collaboration.

You will coordinate unit activities, manage information flow, and assist care team members in delivering comprehensive patient care across all ages.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program, upon hire
• Military medical specialty training, upon hire
• Certified Nursing Assistant: WA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Responsibilities

• Provides patient personal care/hygiene and comfort, including tasks per patient acuity and procedures. Prepares patient, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Monitors, documents and reports clinical activities; notes changes in condition and transports specimens.
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer, orients patient and family, and transports patients per need.
• Checks, cleans and disinfects mobile non-critical medical equipment as required; ensures proper contact time for disinfectants.
• Maintains a neat, organized work environment; orders, stocks and replenishes supplies and enters repair requests when needed.
• Supports safe patient care through coordinating unit activities and information flow across the care team.
