Patient Care Technician - Telemetry - P/T with Benefits Night

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the patient's age.
  • Ensure effective and safe outcomes through sound practice, judgment, and critical actions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status and care provided.
  • Take initiative to exceed job expectations, improve performance, and create new opportunities.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning from admission to discharge for safe patient transitions.
  • Engage in Unit/Department Performance Improvement activities.
  • Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, EKG, specimen collection, and documentation.
  • Assist with patient hygiene, comfort, mobility, and environment preparation.
  • Ensure equipment functionality and safety, including emergency equipment checks.
  • Support patient transport, feeding, and other daily needs.
  • Adhere to organizational standards and policies.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a recognized CNA, Medical Assistant, PCT program, or related accredited nursing or medical training.
  • Must obtain AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Preferred: experience in phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs, and blood sugar testing.
  • At least one year of PCT or CNA experience in a hospital setting is strongly preferred or eligibility for the HMH PCT apprenticeship program.

The starting pay is provided for informational purposes and is not a guarantee of specific compensation. Compensation may be adjusted based on market data, experience, education, skills, location, and organizational factors. Positions may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, shift differentials, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans. Starting hourly rate: $20.32.
