Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Tech in Evanston Hospital to support the nursing team in delivering patient care. Shift is 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends, 24 hours per week.

Work under a RN and assist with vital signs, EKGs, routine patient care, and discharge prep. Qualifications include eligibility to work in the U.S., CNA training preferred or nursing clinical rotation, and current BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S. and CNA training or nursing clinical rotation preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required.
• 1 year of customer service preferred or prior nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care.
• Assist with vital signs, 12-Lead EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley catheter removal, IV adapter removal, and specimen collection.
• Assist with implementing a patient-specific care plan.
• Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the unit.
• Contribute to safety outcomes and a high-quality patient experience.

• Hours: Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, rotating weekends

What You Will Do

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What You Will Need

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• License: N/A
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
