Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician to work in the Resource Pool, supporting multiple units including Med Surg, ICU and ED during nights. This full-time role offers exposure to diverse nursing areas and under supervision of a professional nurse.

The PCT provides patient care, assists with admissions and discharges, observes patient conditions, and complies with safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

This position will work in various units at Sentara Leigh Hospital, including Med Surg, ICU and ED, etc. Employees in the Resource Pool receive additional compensation.Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
