Job Details

With a commitment to patient and family-centered care, the Patient Care Technician II (PCT II) provides advanced direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of licensed clinical team members. The role emphasizes valuing the uniqueness of each individual and addressing the physiological, emotional, and social needs of patients served by Jefferson Health. The PCT II possesses advanced clinical skills and certifications and may act as a resource/mentor in safe patient handling, de-escalation techniques, and point-of-care testing.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

1. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
2. Recognizes patients and their families or designated care partners, providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care based on respect for personal preferences, priorities, needs, and cultural beliefs.
3. Communicates effectively with the inter-professional team, patients, families, and care partners.
4. Performs designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient needs under the supervision of licensed clinical team members.
5. Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
6. May be assigned the role of virtual safety associate based on campus needs.
7. Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment to ensure efficient unit operations.

Qualifications:

• Strongly preferred: Completion of PCT training program within 24 months of hire or nursing students with one semester of clinical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous nursing assistant or healthcare experience preferred.
• AHA BLS CPR certification required.
