Position Summary

The Patient Care Technician at Pulse Heart Institute Float Pool offers a dynamic and comprehensive role within our healthcare system. You will support patient health outcomes by covering nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions. As a float pool employee, you will work across various locations, enhancing your clerical, communication, and age-appropriate nursing care skills, and collaborating to support patient care and services.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a range of duties throughout the hospital, including basic nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical tasks.
  • Apply strong interpersonal skills to provide care for patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with healthcare practitioners and registered nurses to ensure comprehensive quality care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Medical Assistant-Registered Certification Eligible (must apply within 7 days of hire).
  • Obtain Medical Assistant-Registered Certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Nursing Assistant Certification/Licensure.
  • MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Previous patient care experience preferred.
  • Previous Health Unit Coordinator experience preferred.

Pay and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, retirement benefits, and paid time off. The pay range is $22.47 - $37.15 USD, influenced by experience, certifications, and education. Pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale if associated with a union contract.
