Virtua Health in Mount Holly, NJ, is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the PCU to work full-time nights. Under RN/LPN supervision, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, and support the healthcare team.

You will perform vital signs and may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified, while contributing to safety, education, and improvement initiatives. A HS diploma or GED and PCT/CNA training are required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completed a PCT course, CNA program, or RN fundamentals nursing course, or equivalent 1 year of direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting, mobility and transport.
• Performs vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and foley catheter care as directed.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identifies changes in patient status and communicates them to RN/LPN.
• Reinforces patient and family education and safety issues.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.

May perform phlebotomy and EKG's, if certified. Identifies and communicates changes in patient's status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
