Schedule: 7am - 7:30pm / Full Time / 36 Hours per week

Work Schedule: Candidate works every other weekend and rotating holidays

Salary Range: $15.75 - $24.96

We are seeking a Patient Care Technician for Emory Decatur Hospital responsible for being a capable certified technician who cares about the quality of their work and ensuring the safety of all patients.

This individual will:

  • Perform assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN, including but not limited to: cleaning the patient's room, operating various clinical equipment, assisting with emergencies, helping with patient procedures, collecting and transporting patient specimens, and completing applicable forms.
  • Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies.
  • Assist in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN.
  • Ensure that measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
  • Comply with Standard Precautions, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards to maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
  • Assist in the use of medical equipment such as bag-valve-mask devices, anti-embolism stockings, oxygen, suction equipment, incentive spirometers, emergency carts, and bedside glucose monitors.
  • Operate equipment including converter chairs, lifts, scales, beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, non-invasive BP monitors, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, pulse oximeters, and computers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Must meet one of the following:
  • One year of direct patient care experience,
  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course,
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through the State of Georgia, OR
  • Current enrollment in a nursing program with completion of 2 clinical rotations.
