Get to Know Your Team

UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
  • Observe patients’ progress and report to medical staff.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, collect specimens for lab tests.
  • Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
  • Measure and record patients' intake/output, assist with range of motion, and draw blood.
  • Assist with treatments, perform procedures like feeding tube and catheter administration, suture/staple removal, splinting, and ECGs.
  • Coordinate daily activities, support clerical tasks, and participate in performance improvement activities.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification, or in the final semester of nursing school.
  • Active certification within the State of Texas.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in acute or long-term care.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy.
