Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Fort Worth is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for Med Surg, nights PRN, to provide compassionate patient care and support per the plan of care. You will perform data collection, admissions, and safety procedures while collaborating with nurses.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, CNA upon hire, BCLS, CPI, and PCT training. The hospital offers benefits and opportunities for growth in a supportive environment.

• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support according to the plan of care.
• Collect patient data, report findings to the nurse, and communicate per department expectations.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge with accurate documentation.
• Perform procedures safely, enter orders when applicable, and minimize patient risk.

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• CNA - Certified Nurses Aide Upon Hire Required Or

What You Will Do

• Patient Care & Support: Provides assistance according to the plan of care, supports activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences, and serves as a patient advocate.
• Data Collection & Communication: Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to the nurse, and communicates per department expectations including ethical and legal concerns.
• Admission, Transfer & Discharge: Assists in patient transitions and ensures documentation is accurate and appropriate throughout the process.
• Technical Skills & Safety: Performs procedures safely and proficiently, enters orders when applicable, and takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Collaboration & Cultural Sensitivity: Works in partnership with nurses and other disciplines to adapt care for diverse populations, incorporating cultural and religious needs.
• Teamwork & Flexibility: Demonstrates adaptability to changing schedules or workloads, welcomes new team members, and uses interpersonal skills to foster a supportive work environment.
• Professional Development & Improvement: Maintains and enhances care skills, seeks supervision when needed, participates in process improvement, and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals and personnel policies.
