Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks a Patient Care Tech (PCT) in Fort Worth to provide direct patient care under the plan of care, assist with admissions and discharges, and support a safe, clean unit environment. You will collaborate with nurses to tailor care for diverse populations and maintain strong communication across teams.

Required high school diploma or equivalent, THR-approved PCT program or CNA options, BCLS, CPI training, and EMT or nursing student status as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of approved PCT training or THR-approved program.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• CPI and crisis prevention training completed or in progress.
• EMT training or active nursing student status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care based on plan of care and patient/family preferences.
• Collects and reports patient data; supports admission, transfer, discharge.
• Performs technical procedures safely and documents care accurately.
• Collaborates with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment and meets patient and visitor needs.
• Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, and effective cross-disciplinary communication.
• Participates in process improvement and safety initiatives.

Work hours:

Full-Time Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) for 36 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire Required Or
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire Required Or
• Other Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Required Or
• Other 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire Required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required.
• Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
• Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
