Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Pryor, OK is seeking a night shift, full-time Medical-Surgical Patient Care Technician to join our inpatient team. You will assist patients with daily activities, monitor vital signs, collect specimens, and support nursing staff to ensure safe, compassionate care.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 14 days, ACLS within 60 days, and preferably 1 year of Med-Surg experience or CNA/PCT certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities (bathing, dressing, eating) as directed by nursing staff.
• Observe patients’ progress and report to Registered Nurse or medical staff.
• Obtain and record patients’ vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties as needed.
• Measure intake/output and assist with range of motion; support blood draws.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

Responsibilities

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS (within 60 days of hire).

Preferred Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year Med Surg experience.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
