- UT Health Henderson features 41 operational beds, a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center with surgical suites, advanced diagnostic technology, a maternity unit, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and an AASM-accredited sleep center.
Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:
Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
- Observe patients’ progress and prepare reports for medical staff.
- Obtain and record vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
- Provide basic patient transport and perform housekeeping duties.
- Measure and record patients' intake/output, assist with range of motion, and draw blood.
- Assist with treatments such as feeding tube and catheter administration, suture/staple removal, splinting, and perform ECGs as ordered.
- Coordinate daily unit activities, provide clerical support, and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
QualificationsJob Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification, or in the final semester of nursing school.
- Active certification in Texas.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in acute or long-term care.
