Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Fort Worth is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) – Telemetry to join our hospital team. This full-time day shift (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM, 36 hours/week) emphasizes direct patient care, data collection, and collaborative nursing support on telemetry units.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CLIA regulations familiarity, and a PCT training program or THR-approved path. EMT or nursing student backgrounds with fundamentals are welcome; various certifications

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • CLIA regulations knowledge required or equivalent.
  • PCT training program or THR approved program required on hire.
  • EMT-B or equivalent training required on hire.
  • Nursing student with fundamentals may apply on hire.
  • 1 year of applicable experience may substitute for certification on hire.
  • BCLS prior to independent patient care and quarterly maintenance.
  • CPI training maintained annually.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care per care plan and patient/family preferences.
  • Collect and report patient data; support admission, transfer, and discharge.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and document care.
  • Collaborate with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist patients and visitors.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and effective communication across disciplines.
  • Participate in process improvement and safety initiatives.

Work hours: Full-Time Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) for 36 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Here’s What You Need
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required.
  • PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire Required Or
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire Required Or
  • Other Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Required Or
  • Other 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire Required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required.
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
