Adventist HealthCare’s White Oak Medical Center seeks an experienced Patient Care Technician for our Observation Unit who will support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, perform vital signs and activities of daily living, and help ensure a culture of safety and quality.

You will participate in education programs, follow the care plan, report outcomes, and maintain professional standards while contributing to compassionate, faith-based care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Valid Maryland CNA license required
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• One year of hospital experience preferred
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and communicate in English

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Patient Care Technician for our Observation Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Patient Care Technician, You Will

• Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Specific duties may vary by area of assignment.
• Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
• Participate in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives
• Commit to personal, professional development in order to adapt effectively to ongoing change
• Present a positive and professional image to represent nursing and the organization
• Follow the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Receive report from the Registered Nurse
• Ensure a culture of safety
• Identify and report malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies
• Ensures work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately

Qualifications Include

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Maryland CNA license required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One year of current experience in a hospital environment with strong computer skills preferred
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively

Work Schedule

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Hours per Week: 36 hrs/week
• Typical Daily Schedule: 6:45 am-7:15pm (3, 12-hour shifts per week)
• Shift Type: Day
• Weekend Requirements: Alternating weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Alternating holidays

Pay Range: $19.21 - $24.90
