Under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, the Patient Care Tech is responsible for supporting patient care through direct and indirect activities, contributing to a safe and efficient environment. This role performs interventions that ensure comprehensive care in accordance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and procedures. Additionally, the role aims to ensure a positive patient experience.
This position operates in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities and requires scheduling flexibility. Opportunities for career advancement are available through a clinical ladder for Patient Care Techs, based on experience, skills, and certifications.
Qualifications
· Has hospital/acute care experience.
· Successful completion of PCT-specific HHC orientation.
· Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 2 months (60 days) of hire or transfer.
Preferred
· High school diploma or GED.
· Current certified BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA).
· Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA to qualify for advancement in the PCT clinical ladder.
