**Patient Care Tech (PCT)**

**Work location:** Texas Health Southwest - 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

**Department:** Cardiac PCU

**Work hours:** 24 hours, Part-Time, Nights

**Highlights:**

  • Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth is a 222-bed full-service facility offering surgical and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency department, orthopedics and sports therapy, adult critical care, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Serving Tarrant County since 1987, it employs over 1,100 staff, 120 volunteers, and has more than 600 physicians. The hospital is Magnet-designated, a UnitedHealth Premium Surgical Spine center, and has received the AARC Quality Respiratory Care Recognition.

**Qualifications - External**

**Here’s What You Need:**

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent _Required_
  • Compliance with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency _Required_
  • Completion of a PCT Training Program (TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, or THR approved). Certification maintenance not required post-hire unless applicable. _Required_
  • EMT certification or military medical training equivalent (EMT-B). _Required_
  • Completion of fundamentals in nursing or foreign nurse degree. _Required_
  • One year of applicable experience in lieu of active certification. _Required_
  • BCLS certification prior to independent patient care, maintained quarterly _Required_
  • CPI training, maintained annually within 90 days _Required_

Possess organizational skills, positive interpersonal skills, and effective communication skills.

Nursing students who haven't completed their nursing course but have completed Fundamentals Training, and EMTs without active EMT status but demonstrated skills, may continue in the role.

**What You Will Do**

  • Assist patients according to care plans.
  • Collect and report patient data.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
  • Support patient activities of daily living, respecting patient and family preferences.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Take actions to reduce patient risk.
  • Enter orders and document accurately.
  • Collaborate with nurses to adapt and deliver culturally sensitive care.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Anticipate and meet patient, family, and visitor needs.
  • Work in partnership with the healthcare team, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
  • Support new team members and participate in process improvements.
  • Adhere to safety goals and personnel policies.
