Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Cardiac PCU at Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth, TX. This full-time daytime role supports patient care, data collection, admissions, transfers and discharges with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, PCT training or THR-approved program, and BCLS; EMT or nursing student candidates may be considered. Competitive hospital benefits apply.

Qualifications

• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT or THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification after hire.
• BCLS required prior to patient care and maintained quarterly.

Work location: Texas Health Southwest - 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

Work hours: Full-Time Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) for 36 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire Required Or
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire Required Or
• Other Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Required Or
• Other 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire Required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required.
• Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
• Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
