Job description

Position: Patient Care Assistant

Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision. Responsibilities include:

1. Aiding with movement and placement of patients.
2. Assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
3. Reporting findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff and documenting necessary records.
4. Keeping patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintaining medical equipment.

Qualifications:

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide credential from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred; any issuing authority accepted.
• Education:
• High School diploma or equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Note: Professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience if applicable.
