Responsibilities
  • 0-25% Travel Requirement
  • Take patient history and obtain vital signs
  • Perform basic testing or screenings (vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testing)
  • Perform phlebotomy for laboratory samples
  • Complete paperwork/computer work for lab tests
  • Perform point of care testing (strep, mono, glucose, influenza, pregnancy tests, urinalysis)
  • Ensure sterile technique, instrument sterilization, and autoclave use
  • Schedule and coordinate records for ancillary care
  • Assist providers with exams and testing
  • Maintain confidentiality (HIPAA)
  • Ensure equipment is operational
  • Log laboratory procedures and process paperwork
  • Maintain examination rooms and supplies
  • Support efficient patient flow
  • Handle registration, explain insurance, collect payments
  • Assist providers during patient exams
  • Document patient history, exams, and procedures
  • Complete transcription tasks
  • Perform duties to improve provider efficiency
  • Greet and register patients
  • Answer and triage calls
  • Take payments
  • Manage reports (printing, scanning, faxing)
  • Other front desk and cleaning duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Follow written instructions and work practices
  • Maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, families
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, move equipment, transfer patients
  • Computer skills, including patient registration
  • Up-to-date on injections and OSHA documentation
  • CPR certification
  • Good listening and note-taking skills
  • Typing at least 45 words per minute
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Teamwork skills
  • Friendly, customer service-oriented
  • Ability to handle high call volume
  • Physical capacity for lifting up to 50 pounds
