Job Description

• Assist with and provide physical care to residents according to established standard of performance.
• Performs and records assigned procedure and nursing care activities completely and skillfully, such as, BP, TPR’s, heights, weights, changing simple dressing, feeding and other related nursing duties.
• Maintains the environmental conditions and practices to ensure comfort, safety, and security for resident’s property.
• Demonstrates safety awareness and follows protocol for fire, disaster, infection control and other environment of care practices.
• Maintains knowledge and skills through participation in conferences and planning for patient care. Attends all mandatory classes.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Demonstrates a sensitive and supportive attitude towards the resident, family, and/or significant others.
• Assists in recreational and rehabilitation activities designed to meet the assessed needs of residents. Supervises residents during field trips.
• Report observations of patients’ and families’ condition mental state and social behavior to medical and professional staff caring for patients, and participates in the assessment and/or care of patients and families.
  

This position does NOT perform EKG.This position does NOT utilize phlebotomy skills .

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from elementary school.
• Successful completion of basic skill training program for Nurse’s Aides, or its equivalent.
  

In addition to meeting the qualification requirements above, assignment to a long term care facility requires a New York State Nurse’s Aide Certificate.

Additional $2,000 differential for working in long term care facility.
