Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Patient Care Technician - Ortho/Spine
  • Location: Skokie Hospital, Skokie, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Part-time, 20 hr/wk, Evening Shift
  • Hours: M-F 3p-11:30p, including rotating weekends and holidays

What you will do:

  • Work under the supervision of an RN to deliver patient care
  • Assist with vital signs, 12-Lead EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients, preparing patients for discharge, and other duties delegated by the RN
  • Assist with implementing patient-specific care plans
  • Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
  • Contribute positively to safety outcomes and promote high-quality patient experiences

What you will need:

  • Education: Eligible to work in the U.S.; completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred, or at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
  • License: N/A
  • Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association; if not current, must obtain within the first 90 days of employment
  • Experience: 1 year of customer service and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
