Virginia Beach, VAWork Shift
Third (Nights)Overview:
Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on the 3 West Ortho/Joint Unit.
Hours/Shift:
Part-time, night shift. Approximately7pm to 7am
Department/Position Overview:
3 West Ortho is a 12-bed unit that accommodates a variety of post operative surgical procedures including total hip, knees, shoulders, ankles & spine. Being that most of our patients are admitted via elective procedure it makes the patient population a joy as they are often very thankful for our staff & have an anticipated plan of care managing pain, physical therapy & monitoring post operative complications. We enforce more independence by promoting mobility which decreases the amount of total care patients we have which is also a bonus for our small unit.
Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nurse.
