In this role, you will support oncology patients by providing essential care like vital signs monitoring, mobility assistance, and phlebotomy while ensuring adherence to patient safety protocols. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and relevant certifications, aiming to enhance patients' comfort in a dynamic healthcare setting.
The Patient Care Technician provides patient care, support independent and dependent activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and document in a timely and accurate manner while reporting any change to the nurse or medical staff.
Department Overview: This unit cares for Medical and Surgical oncology patients in an inpatient, 36-bed unit. The unit is both an oncology unit and intermediate care! We are hiring compassionate Patient Care Technicians to support our nursing team with chemotherapy and hospice patients.
